Eczema is a skin condition that can sometimes be hard to understand, although at times you might think you have a grasp on it. Anything can trigger it to flare up at times, and it can be hard to pinpoint exactly what is causing it. Thankfully, there are many solutions for treating this skin condition. Eczema remedies range from drugs and creams, to ultraviolet light therapy or even emotional therapy. The reason you find so many treatments for eczema is due to the large amount of causes for eczema.
1. Neem is known as Sarbaroganibarini in Ayurveda which means ‘cure for all diseases’. Both internal and external applications of neem may offer benefits in treating eczema. Neem can be considered as an effective and holistic natural cure for eczema.
2. Avoid soaps, lotions or creams that have high concentrations of fragrance or other irritants, to reduce the occurrence of symptoms and lessen the severity of symptoms. Use hypoallergenic products whenever possible.
3. The cause of eczema is still largely unknown but certain types of irritants and external allergens play a huge role in triggering eczema. Food is one of the many things that can trigger a flare-up of eczema. The most common food culprits are milk, eggs, peanuts, wheat, and soy. Other irritants may include certain kinds of soaps, detergents and even some shampoos so it’s best to avoid suspect allergens may be triggering your skin problem.
4. One of the greatest remedies for eczema is a natural oil known as tea tree oil. This can be found at any grocery store or supermarket and can instantly alleviate the symptoms of eczema. With consistent use, it has also been proven to help prevent eczema from returning!
5. Tulsi is one of the common herbs seen in many places in India. It has extensive medicinal properties. Likewise neem, Tulsi is also used both externally and internally. The in combination with neem leaves Tulsi paste over the affected area can offer a natural cure for eczema. The paste can also be mixed with fresh turmeric powder. Turmeric powder offers antibacterial property, so it is helpful in any type of skin infection.
6. Avoid scratching. Keep your nails trimmed or wear gloves to help resist the temptation. Wear cool, smooth-textured clothing to prevent irritating your skin.
7. Another method you can use to cure eczema is to take probiotic supplements. Probiotics will improve your digestion and boost your immune system, making it less likely to break out. Taking nutritional supplements containing vitamin A, B and C provide nourishment to your body can also strengthen your immune system. Your skin may also benefit from increasing your consumption of omega-3 & 6 essential fatty acids. Evening primrose oil, black currant and borage oil are all useful to get more EFAs into your system.
8. Zinc is a mineral that can reportedly help to reduce your eczema breakouts. It is important to note, however, that you should not take more than thirty milligrams of zinc per day. Too much zinc into your system can cause you to be copper deficient, which in turn leads to other health problems.
